At the door

The most important issues are the ones I hear from people at their door. I want to let you know what I am hearing, my experience with the issues, and how I will address the issues when I am elected. Watch for updates as the campaign progresses.

Many of the people I talk to say “jobs” or “the economy” is their highest priority for action. This includes people who are working, who are concerned about their neighbors and the general economy of the community. Even grandparents are concerned and one said, “I am ok; I am retired. But, members of my family are not working.” When others are not doing well, we all are affected. There is less income to contribute to schools, fire and safety support, and our infrastructure of roads and bridges. While it is important to support large businesses that provide many jobs in our community, I also want to provide incentives and support to our small businesses to help them hire local people who are out of work. Small business jobs do not go overseas! Having managed budgets for large and small departments and construction projects, I can help design initiatives that will help these businesses.
